Josh, Sinead, David and Sasha will first give a complete and total rundown of the winners (and losers) from the 2016 Emmy Awards including who deserved the win, who was snubbed and some of the best moments from the telecast!
CBS’ much anticipated Star Trek Discovery has been pushed from January to May of 2017. In a press release from the network, showrunner Bryan Fuller and executive producer Alex Kurtzman said, “Bringing ‘Star Trek’ back to television carries a responsibility and mission to connect fans and newcomers alike to the series that has fed our imaginations since childhood. We aim to dream big and deliver, and that means making sure the demands of physical and post-production for a show that takes place entirely in space, and the need to meet an air date, don’t result in compromised quality.
Spike Lee’s 1986 debut film, “She’s Gotta Have It”, which follows the doings of a young, sexually liberated woman who is carrying on a variety of affairs and romances has been picked up for 10 episodes at Netflix, after being passed on by Showtime. And in even bigger news, Spike Lee will direct EVERY episode and at least partially write them as well.
Superhero Rundown
Ben Barnes, known for fantastical roles in The Chronicles of Narnia and Stardust has been cast as a series regular on Netflix’s upcoming Punisher series starring Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Details on his character are still unknown, but rumors point to him being Bobby Saint, the corrupt son of a ruthless crime boss who was played in the 2004 Punisher film by James Carpinello.
Vincent D'Onofrio, who creepily and fantastically brought Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin to life in seasons 1 & 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix, is more than willing to come back for season 3 of the series, saying, “I’m going to do everything I can because the writing is so good. And then there’s a company like Netflix and they’re not pressuring you either. They just want good material, good content. They give you money to make good content, so they’re not pressuring actors to sign their life away.”
In the newest extended trailer for Arrow season 5, Oliver Queen and his new group of vigilantes are under attack by Tyrese from The Walking Dead and what appears to be a guy in a 1980’s hockey goalie mask? Oh… and Laurel Lance got a statue on the waterfront.
